My Cooking and other random stuff!

Ask me anything   I love to cook! So this is a place where I share anything that I cook that is worthy of sharing.
I am also currently preparing to get my Cicerone Certification, so I may share some things about that as I progress. Not to mention many other random things that come to mind.
Oh, and by the way, did I mention that I love to cook!

Update On Weight Loss and new Plan

Well here I am after continuing with my life long commitment to eating healthy and exercising weekly, I have lost just about 25 pounds (Give or take a couple of pounds depending on the day). I am really happy with the results so far!

I have noticed after losing the weights and several inches off my waist (Used to wear a 34, now a 32 is loose fitting). I am even starting to look a little too skinny. I know what your thinking, “Isn’t that that the point?” Yes, thats the point, but now I would like to gain some more muscle.

I have since purchased a new tool for my arsenal. It is a 35 pound kettlebell. I bought it at MBody Strength in Brea, CA. The name of the trainer there is Marcus Martinez and he was really helpful in talking me through the beginning of kettlebell training. My first couple of times using this thing was a bit awkward but when I got the hang of it, I fell in love! This thing kicks my butt every time I use it!

    So my new routine is:

    -Run/Walk every morning before work.

-In the evening, every other day, split time between my Total Trainer and the Kettle bell. (About 15 minutes each)

Finally, I am going to try to post a picture of every meal that I eat. This will force me to think about what I eat. If I am going to be embarrassed about sharing with everyone, than maybe I shouldn’t be eating it. We will see how this turns out and hopefully I will stay firm to my commitments. At the same time, maybe some of you will learn as I continue my path to a healthy lifestyle. Also, some of you will be able correct my eating habits and steer me in a better direction. I am, in no way, a expert on any of this. I am learning as I go and know I will be successful eventually!

BTW, I also have been learning a great deal listening to a podcast call the Nutrition Diva. If you havnt listened to her podcast, it is a must. They are very short but very informative!
